Councillor Michael J. Selby

Michael was re-elected at the Borough Council elections held on May 3rd. 2007 He has represented the Nork Ward on the Borough Council for the past 19 years. His experience, together with our other two Borough Councillors, has demonstrated that party politics are best left out of local government.

Biography

  • Resident in Nork for 33 years
  • Educated at Wandsworth Technical College and served an apprenticeship with GEC
  • Served as an electrical engineer in the Merchant Navy
  • Worked for 20 years for LLoyds Bank in the City
  • Member of the Nork Residents' Association for 29 years, former Chairman, Vice-Chairman and currently Membership Secretary
  • Former Governor of Warren Mead County Infants School and Banstead County Junior School
  • Member of Council's Planning Committee
  • Widely travelled with interests in local planning, protection of the environment, gardening and music.
