Borough Councillor Brian Stead

Our candidate Brian Stead, was duly re-elected as Reigate and Banstead Councillor for Nork Ward with an excellent majority in May 2010. For the Council Year 2010-11 he was re-elected by its Overview and Scrutiny Committee as their Chairman. This Committee acts as a ‘Critical Friend’ to the Council Executive, questioning their decisions in detail, with special emphasis on the Council’s Budget, and Performance. In particular it is also the Audit Committee and has responsibility for the scrutiny of the Council’s and its partners’ response to Crime and Disorder.

For the Council Year 2011-12 he has been elected to hold the ceremonial post of Mayor.

Norman Harris, our fellow Nork Residents' Association member, announced the appointment at a meeting of the full council telling members it was
"history in the making".
