Cllr. Brian Stead

As the seat for the Nork Ward was not contested, our candidate Brian Stead, was duly returned unopposed in May 2006 as the Reigate and Banstead Councillor for the Nork Ward.

Brian would have liked to have had the chance to participate in a contest for the seat but is nonetheless pleased that the other parties are content to let him continue.

Brian Stead has represented the Nork Ward on the Borough Council since 1995. His experience, together with our other two Borough Councillors, has demonstrated that party politics are best left out of local government. His unopposed return has ensured that he will continue his work towards the welfare and benefit of all our residents.  

Biography

• Married to Carol, with three children.

• 16 years service in the Royal Air Force, reaching the rank of Wing Commander.

• 20 years as a senior Defence Ministry civil servant.

• Vice Chairman of Governors at Warren Mead School

• Chairman of Banstead & Districts Police Community Partnership (PCPG)

• Member of the Nork Community Association Committee

• Member of the Banstead West Music in the Park Committee
